Piano Tuning

My name is Ross Ferkett and I am a Certified Aural Piano Tuner. Based in Waupaca, WI, I offer piano tuning and repair services to East-Central Wisconsin. Please reach out if you have any questions about my services.

Regular tuning is good for your piano. Besides the obvious result that the piano sounds better when it is in tune, it will be more stable over time with regular tuning - at least yearly, though twice a year is recommended. Pianos that have not been tuned for a year or more may require a pitch correction depending on the piano and the space where it resides.

During those tuning visits, a piano technician will be able to notice and address other issues that may affect the performance of your instrument as well. A piano has many thousands of parts. To play a single note, dozens of those parts must all behave in precise relationship to each other. Over the years some of those parts become worn through use. Others suffer due to seasonal changes that cause things to warp, loosen, or come unglued. Fixing small issues along the way can help prevent the need for more serious repairs.

Pricing:
My basic tuning fee is $95.
A pitch correction of more than 20% costs $25. 
Repairs are $40/hr, though small improvements and adjustments can often be completed in a fraction of an hour.
